Dr. Shabir Ally holds an M.A. and PhD in Islamic studies from the University of Toronto. He completed his B.A. in Religious Studies from Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario, with a specialization in Biblical Literature.
For over 30 years, he has been an active member of the Muslim community in Toronto, as well as an active participant in interfaith dialogues and initiatives around the world. He is an internationally sought after speaker, scholar and theologian, and is the author of numerous books on Islam and the Abrahamic faiths.
He has recently taught courses on Arabic, the Quran, and Islam at the University of Toronto. He is President of the Islamic Information & Dawah Centre International in Toronto and the founder of the TV and online show Let the Quran Speak
He has, from an early age, excelled in academic studies, consistently being awarded prizes and accolades for his various achievements. Sheikh Tawfique is a graduate of Medicine from the University of Bond, Australia, as well as a graduate of the college of Shariah at the Islamic University of Madinah.
Being a prolific speaker, Sheikh Tawfique Chowdhury has travelled internationally, sharing his knowledge worldwide. He is renowned for specializing in Islamic Jurisprudence – particularly Islamic finance, Muslim Family Law and Islamic Medical Ethics.
Eng Ossama Al Azzouni, a professional Civil Engineer, is the CEO & Founder of Al Azzouni Engineering consultant office. He is also an International Arbitrator for engineering and construction disputes.
Dr Ossama also has a B. Sc in Islamic Studies and is a lecturer in Islamic studies and strategic Da’awah plans. He has been actively doing work in Da’awah with new Muslims for over 30 years and is a member of many Islamic organisations around the world such as in Egypt, Kenya, Phillipines, Spain and Canada. He was previously the Executive Manager of International Programs at The International Association for New Muslims, The World Muslim League, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Among his current position include General Coordinator for Da’awah organisations (International Union of Muslim scholars, Qatar) and member of Da’awah Committee of Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs, Egypt.
Hj Nicholas Sylvester @ Berry Muhammad Abdullah, a former Roman Catholic revert from Sabah, is the Chairman of Hidayah Centre Foundation, a Foundation registered with the Prime Minister’s Department of Malaysia since 2012.
An MBA graduate of University of Hull UK, Hj Nicholas is also the chairman and owner of a training, consulting and event management company, Success Excellence Center Sdn Bhd with more than 25 years of HR Training and Development. His expertise includes among others, in areas of Change Management, Good Corporate Governance, Blue Ocean Strategy, and Human Capital Management.
Among his current engagements, Hj Nicholas is the Chairman of Gabungan Dakwah Malaysia (GDM) and also Member for Advisory Panel for the Mufti Office of Selangor, Negeri Sembilan and the Religious Department of Federal Territories of Malaysia. Hj Nicholas is also Recipient of several awards including Tokoh Maulid Rasul Award for State of Sabah (2009) , Tokoh Maal Hijrah Award for State of Wilayah Persekutuan (2013) and Tokoh Pendakwah Maal Hijrah for State of Pulau Pinang (2017).
Datin Paduka Che Asmah graduated with Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from University of Missouri, United States of America and Master of Science in Environmental Impact from the University of Wales, United Kingdom.
Being a retired civil servant, she has 28 years of working experiences in environmental management specialising in the area of air pollution; waste and hazardous waste management; environmental legal requirements and policies; and environmental governance.
Apart from her official duties, she is also active in social development & charity work, especially in providing opinion and insights on women issues locally through her involvement with Pertubuhan IKRAM Malaysia (IKRAM), where she is currently the Head of Women’s Wing. She is also passionate for humanitarian and social work in helping the needy locally and abroad. She participated in a humanitarian mission to Gaza, Palestine with Islamic Relief Malaysia (IRM) in 2012 and recently in 2014 to Jordan for the Syrian humanitarian mission. In addition, she is also being entrusted as one of the trustee in Hidayah Centre Foundation board.
In 2010, she was bestowed with Dato Paduka Mahkota Selangor (DPMS) by HRH The Sultan of Selangor which carries the title ’Datin Paduka’ for female recipient, in appreciation for her contribution particularly concerning the Selangor state’s environmental management.
An expert in catalysis, Dr Taufiq Yap is a chemistry professor at the Department of Chemistry of the Science Faculty, University Putra Malaysia and Head of the Putra Catalysis Science and Technology Research Centre (PutraCAT).
He is currently the President of Malaysian Chinese Muslim Association (MACMA) and is a Panel Member of the Malaysian Islamic Consultative Council (MPI). He holds several other positions including National Council Member of Muslim Welfare Organisation (PERKIM), exco of the Regional Islamic Da’wah for South East Asia and Pacific (RISEAP), Board Member of Selangor Muallaf Academy and is a Main Committe Member of the National Da’wah Council (YADIM).
Dr Taufiq has received numerous awards including Young Malaysian Outstanding Award (2008), Selangor State Maal Hijrah Token (2012) and Top Malaysian Scientist (2014)
Dr Fauziah Hassan who serves as a consultant at the Ampang Puteri Specialist Hospital Kuala Lumpur, has been very active in humanitarian activities, firstly with the Malaysian Medical Relief Society (MERCY Malaysia) where she served as Treasurer (2000-2006) and participated in missions to Kosovo (1999), Maluku Indonesia (2000), Afghanistan (2001,2002,2003), Aceh (2005), Pakistan (2005) and Gaza (2009).
She was then active in Aqsa Syarif, a Malaysian humanitarian NGO in support of the Palestinians which in 2015 became an agency under the umbrella of Humanitarian Care Malaysia (MyCARE). She was Deputy Chairperson of Aqsa Syarif from 2010 and currently a member of the Board of Trustees of MyCARE. Since 2011 she is also the Advisor of Rose2Rose (R2R), another agency of MyCARE focusing on empowering women and children.
She has led the campaign to care for the many unfortunate women and children, namely in Palestine, Syria and Rohingya and was one of the participants on board the Women’s Boat to Gaza in 2016. She was subsequently awarded the ‘Serikandi Al-Azwar’ (Iron Angel) award by the Terengganu Government for her participation in the mission to Gaza.
Having graduated with Bachelor of Arabic and Islamic Studies from SOAS, London – Alexandria University and Master’s degree in Islamic and Western Philosophy from UM, Xifu Nasser is a Lecturer at the Department of Islamic Revealed Knowledge & Human Sciences, Center for Foundation Studies, International Islamic Universities of Malaysia in the field of critical and creative thinking.
He is currently the Deputy President of the Darul Fitrah Revert Association, Mentor of sitcom television “Studio Muallaf” published by ALHIJRAH TV, and a trainer for FCR (Friendly Comparative Religions) at Islamic Information Services (IIS). His area of expertise includes Arabic (Logical Method), Balaghah Al Quran, Religious Comparison, Philosophy, and Interfaith Dialogue.
He is also a song composer for artistes such as Muadz, Nash and The Wayfarers.
Aliza Kim who was born and raised in the USA, is a public inspiration speaker and an online and tv personality. She has a Double Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Economics and Masters of Business Administration in International Business Marketing. She also has a Diploma in Islamic Studies and is active in online da’wah to non Muslims.
Pahrol Mohamad Juoi is a writer, magazine columnist, editor-in-chief, lyrics creator, module sketcher, script writer, TV lawyer and trainer who conducts training and motivation programs. He is currently a Director and Research Module cum General Manager of Fitrah Perkasa Sdn. Bhd. a consulting and training company involved in training programs for more than 200 goverment agencies, corporate bodies and private companies across Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei, such as Petronas,Felda,Johor Corporation,Angkatan Tentera Malaysia (ATM) & DST Brunei.
In addition, he is also the Head of Solution Magazine Editor and Group Editor-in-Chief of Telaga Biru Sdn.Bhd. He has been active in the field of writing especially in the field of dakwah and Islamic education. To date he has written several books from various genres of writing. Among them: Fighting the Flames, Jendela Hati, Turkey: An Empire, and Malay-Islamic Dilemma: Less Think or Less Remembrance. He received an award under the “Anugerah Buku Negara” in 2014 for Best Writer (Islamic category).
In addition, he actively writes nasyid lyrics for Nasyid groups such as Hijjaz, Rabbani, Raihan, Inteam, UNIC, Saujana, Mestica, Firdaus, Saffone, Nowseeheart and others. He is also currently a panelist for Radio Ikim (“Islam itu Indah”) and Astro Oasis (“Al Ustaz”).
Ustaz Zulramli, a graduate of University of Karachi, is a Motivational Consultant and is currently a lecturer at the Kolej Ibukota Kinabalu. He also conducts training focusing on Character, Capability and Leadership Development at Kiffah Motivation & Training Sdn. Bhd. He serves as the Editor of Q&A magazine and has written several books, such as “Turning Point” dan “U-Turn ke Jalan Lurus”.
Ustaz Zulramli is also well known for his slots on Radio Ikim, “Durul Hikmah” and “Bicara Ad-Din”, and is also a TV personality on programs such as “Selamat Pagi Malaysia” and “Al-Hidayah”.
Ustazah Nooraidah, a revert from Sabah, has a Masters degree in Islamic Study from Open University Malaysia. She is currently an executive officer at Hidayah Centre Keningau and is the Head of Women’s Wing of United Sabah Islamic Association (USIA).
A passionate daie , she has participated in several international da’awah programs in Indonesia, Brunei and Beijing. She was also granted by USIA with the Syaidatina Aisyah Award as prominent female daie in Sabah .
